This category of products is not medical product that need appropriate medical certification but more product to support health and recovery. Examples might include wheelchair design; design of products to help calorie control and manage diet; design of device to help move patients.

Wheelchair Design

D2M specialise in the design of wheelchairs. We’ve worked on electric wheelchairs, folding manual wheelchairs and electric mobility scooters. With extensive experience in pushchair and golf trolley design as well, we have incredible knowledge of wheels, brakes, suspension systems and the necessary ergonomics for the patient and the carer.

The product in the image is a health product designed to help manage portion sizes as part of a calorie controlled diet. The product enables weight loss or weight gain and the concept is designed to be simple, intuitive and easy to use.

The product pictured below is developed with a company called PhysioLabs who developed a recovery product initially aimed at healthcare but then found a growing and receptive market in professional sport. The product previously had been engineered rather than designed and so D2M was tasked with restyling the product as well as reducing the overall bulk and bringing in innovative materials, finishes and utilising new production opportunities.

Designing health products involves an in-depth knowledge of the target market and we work very closely with the target market during the process to best ensure that the final results meets the specific needs of the patient.
