If you are an inventor or a company with a product idea you would like to bring to market D2M is here to help. Here’s how to get the process started:
Contact D2M
The first step on the road to bringing your idea to life is to contact the team at D2M. Simply fill out the contact form on our website and provide some basic information (we know you need to protect your idea so we don’t need details, just big picture stuff). Then indicate the type of meeting you’d prefer, be it Zoom, Teams or a phone call. If you would like us to sign an NDA, no worries, we’d be happy to.
Consult
The information on the contact form will be examined by one of our Senior Design Engineers who will then get in touch with you via your preferred method. Expect the Engineer to ask a few questions intended to help them develop a project proposal. Also, because we have no interest in stringing people along, if the Design Engineer feels the proposed product is not viable, they will tell you.
Receive a Quotation
Should the Design Engineer determine the product is worth pursuing he or she will create a comprehensive project proposal that includes a proposed timeline as well as a detailed quotation. Examine it carefully. Should you wish to make any changes to the project proposal this is the time to do so, before actual work commences.
Commence Work
Once any modifications to the proposal have been hammered out and the final project agreement signed, we bring together the development team for a project briefing. This marks the official commencement of work on your product.
The Development Process in a Nutshell
The product development process includes 4 essential steps:
The Protection of Your IP: Your idea is everything, so we work closely with a group of proven and trusted Chartered Patent Attorneys to ensure the integrity of your Intellectual Property at all stages of the development process.
Manufacturing: Our Design Engineers are seasoned professionals who produce detailed specifications of your product that are used by manufacturers to guide the production process. But we don’t just produce blueprints. We also source materials and parts and put potential manufacturers through a rigorous vetting process.
Testing & Certification: Different markets operate under different consumer protection laws and regulations. Our experts make sure that the design, materials, packaging and other elements that go into the final product do not violate product safety regulations in any of your proposed markets.
Product Launch: Once manufacturing and testing are complete and regulatory compliance is assured your product is ready for store shelves whether real (in the form of brick and mortar retail shops) or virtual (if you plan to market primarily online).
