The book is written by Vicki Strachan (Chartered European Patent Attorney) and Phil Staunton (Experienced Product Design Engineer).

Vicki is a multi award winning Patent Attorney and CEO at Strachan IP Ltd. Over 20 years’ experience helping entrepreneurial companies to protect the parts of their business that keep them ahead of their competitors. Vicki has  worked in private practice with clients of all types, including start-up and spin-out companies, universities, SMEs and multinational corporations, in many different science, technology and manufacturing sectors.

Phil has over 20 years’ experience in supporting start-ups and SMEs to develop and launch innovative, new products onto the market. Phil specialises in strategic planning of product development to minimise risk and therefore maximise the chances of success. Phil founded D2M Innovation in 2013 and since then has grown the business to a medium sized design consultancy. More recently Phil, along with a co-founder, started Ark – a new innovative brand in the premium nursery sector.
