As parents as well as designers, we are always on the lookout for new, innovative products that solve everyday problems.
We have a fair amount of experience designing new products for the baby and nursery sector, including launching our own pushchair brand, Ark.
You don’t have to be a parent to know that one of the biggest issues faced by new parents is keeping your baby safe at all times, especially when traveling in a car. There are so many options out there when it comes to choosing a baby car seat; the safety, side impact, lie-flat, lightweight, isofix car seat bases, being interchangeable with pushchairs, the list is endless!
We decided to take a look at the features of some of the most innovative baby car seats on the market and explore some of our favourites.
Well-designed baby car seat with top safety ratings. With so many different car seat options on the market it can be stressful trying to find the best option for your baby. Safety ratings are probably one of the best ways to decide which car seat to purchase as this will ultimately save lives!

Best side impact protection. Very important in baby car seats as it can save lives. Side impacts are the second most common source of serious injuries for children in vehicles, it’s essential to choose the right baby car seat that offers the best protection.

We love Maxi-Cosi Rock it weighs as little as 3.8kg, for children measuring 40-75cm, which is from birth to around 12 months.
Best position for your baby. With the ‘2 hour car rule’ being a concern when travelling with your baby, it’s best to look for car seats that can recline, so that your child can lie flat for a while when you take a break. There are so many new and innovative design solutions out there to try to solve this problem.
