The Outcome

Our collaboration with Physiolab resulted significant improvement in the development of a range of innovative cryotherapy products that provide targeted relief for athletes recovering from injuries or fatigue. The product range has been met with widespread acclaim, with Physiolab growing their market share and professional collaboration with elite athletes. The Physiolab range of cryotherapy products has changed the game when it comes to recovery, enabling athletes to perform at their best and recover more quickly.

The Story

Physiolab has been a leading provider of physiotherapy equipment since 2006. The company was founded with the goal of providing sports and fitness professionals with the highest-quality equipment to help their clients achieve their goals.

Cryotherapy is a proven method for accelerating recovery and reducing pain and inflammation, but Physiolab wanted to take it to the next level. They approached D2M (due to our experience of sports and fitness product design) with their vision for an improvement to their range of state-of-the-art cryotherapy products that would provide targeted relief for athletes recovering from injuries or fatigue.

Our team of expert product designers and engineers worked closely with Physiolab to develop a range of cryotherapy products that met their exacting standards for quality, performance, and safety. We worked with their team who had conducted extensive research to gain a deep understanding of the sports and fitness industry’s needs and preferences, as well as the latest trends and technologies. Collaboration was key on this project to ensure that we added value in terms of design and textiles engineering whilst their team added market insight and medical knowledge.

Once we had a good understanding of the industry and its needs, we started working on the design of the products. Our product designers created multiple design concepts, exploring various shapes, sizes, and materials that could meet the needs of athletes. Fittings a variety of different pads to a range of different body shapes and sizes was no mean feat! Materials selection and design for cost effective manufacture was also critical to the success of this project.

Once the design was finalised, we moved on to the prototype stage, creating multiple versions of the products to test and refine their functionality. This process was iterative, with each new prototype bringing us closer to the final version of the product.

The range of cryotherapy products was not just a game-changer in terms of its technology, but also in its sleek, modern design that was sure to turn heads in the sports and fitness industry.
