The Story

Stewart Golf is a leading manufacturer of high-quality golf equipment based in Stroud, UK. The company was founded by CEO Mark Stewart in 2003, and has grown from humble beginnings to become a well-known name in the golfing industry. Their first major success was the launch of the X1 remote in 2003, which received critical acclaim. In 2012, we became part of Stewart Golf’s journey, helping them design and develop their own push golf trolley to maximise margins and give them greater control over design and quality.

Stewart Golf is renowned for their focus on cutting-edge technology and design, creating products that improve the golfer’s experience on the course. This focus led to the development of innovative follow golf trolleys, and D2M’s creative team was brought on board, following an initial meeting, to help speed up the development of the Q Follow product. Our team of designers and engineers worked closely with Mark and the management team at Stewart Golf to bring the idea to life.

The Q Follow trolley was unique in its specific design challenges and was the company’s most ambitious project to date. We all knew that to make it a success and launch it within the tight timeframes we were going to have to pull out all of the stops! The project also required an exceptional level of product development expertise and particular knowledge of wheeled products, folding mechanism and integration of electronics.

Our team worked in an integrated fashion with Stewart Golf’s engineering team, ensuring that their expertise was fully utilised as part of the development process. We paid close attention to the ergonomics, making sure the product was easy to use and comfortable for golfers of all shapes and sizes. We also had to consider different terrains and different climates as Stewart Golf exports around the world.

Once the design was finalised, we created multiple prototypes of the trolley to test and refine its functionality. These took up quite a bit of space in our workshops! The final design was a sleek and stylish piece of equipment that seamlessly integrated advanced technology, allowing it to follow the golfer around the course automatically – a little bit like a very obedient dog! The launch of the Q Follow trolley was a resounding success, with golfers around the world embracing the innovative technology and premium design. Needless to say, the founders of Stewart Golf were thrilled!

“It’s been an incredible journey for the business so far,” said Mark. “Our focus on quality, innovation and customer service have all contributed to our growth.” The increasing demand for Stewart Golf’s products has enabled the company to roll out its product range across Europe, USA and Australia. The business now exports to over 25 countries.

In conclusion, the Q Follow trolley is a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and cutting-edge technology. At D2M, we are committed to delivering the best possible product development solutions to our clients, helping them turn their ideas into reality.
