Stewart Golf Q-Follow
An autonomous follow trolley, built for the demands of real courses.
The Q Follow is Stewart Golf's autonomous follow trolley, designed to track the golfer around the course without being pushed or pulled. D2M have worked with Stewart Golf since 2012, developing over ten products together. When the Q Follow needed to move faster through development, D2M were brought in to accelerate it.
The Project
The Q Follow was Stewart Golf's most complex product to date. It required expertise across wheeled product design, folding mechanisms and electronics integration, all within tight development timelines. The product also needed to perform across different terrains and climates, reflecting Stewart Golf's export reach across Europe, the US and Australia.
The Solution
D2M worked in close collaboration with Stewart Golf's engineering team throughout. To reduce communication time and tighten the feedback loop, Stewart Golf's lead engineer relocated to D2M's studio for nearly six weeks. D2M built a dedicated workspace for the purpose. Multiple prototypes were developed and tested, with ergonomics, usability and build quality refined at each stage. The result was a product that integrated follow technology cleanly into a trolley designed for the demands of real course conditions.

Outcome
The Q Follow launched to strong demand. Sales reached £6.7 million in 2021 and Stewart Golf went on to be recognised in the Sunday Times as one of the UK's fastest growing companies. The business now exports to over 25 countries.
