Ayres London is a luxury eyeglasses case brand founded by consultant surgeon Mark Mason. D2M supported the development of the product from design through to manufacture, working with CNC-machined 7000-series aluminium to create a case built for durability, minimal aesthetics and long-term sustainability.
The Story
Mark Mason founded Ayres London after being unable to find an eyeglasses case that matched his expectations for quality and longevity. Drawing on the design language of 1940s British eyewear and the engineering heritage of the de Havilland Comet, he set out to create something close to indestructible. D2M worked with him to realise that ambition in production-ready form.
The case is precision-cut from 7000-series aluminium using advanced CNC technology, resulting in a nearly edge-free profile that is both robust and refined. The manufacturing process was designed to be zero-waste, and every case is backed by a lifetime guarantee.
The Outcome
Ayres London successfully launched as a D2C brand and secured placement in high-end retail. The product has built a loyal customer base drawn to its sustainability credentials, guarantee and design.
