Open-ended bath tray designed for imaginative water play.

Spout is a bath tray and toy set designed to encourage open-ended play for children aged three to eight, without relying on the single-use plastic common in most bath toys. The brief called for a premium, considered alternative built for longevity in both material and play pattern. D2M worked with the client from initial concept through to a finished, manufacture-ready design.

The brief called for a bath tray and toy set that supported open-ended play without relying on the single-use plastic common in most bath toys, at a premium price point built to hold a child's interest over time.

D2M developed the concept through several rounds of exploration, working through connection methods, tray construction and material choices before settling on a direction that balanced simplicity, durability and cost. Material selection weighed sustainability against manufacturability throughout, and the design was refined based on ongoing feedback before moving into CAD development, prototyping and full manufacturing specification.

D2M supported the project through to production.
