Revolve
Foldable wheel developed for a cabin-sized travel wheelchair.
Revolve Air is a foldable active wheelchair designed to meet cabin luggage size requirements for air travel. Revolve came to D2M to develop the foldable wheel at the centre of the product. D2M supported this element of the project through design and prototyping.
The Story
The wheel needed to fold down significantly in size without compromising strength, stability or ride quality once unfolded. D2M worked on the design and prototyping of the folding mechanism, resolving how the wheel would collapse and lock securely into a compact form suitable for cabin luggage.
D2M's involvement was focused specifically on this component, supporting Revolve's wider development of the wheelchair as a whole product.
