Cryotherapy range redesigned for comfort, fit and recovery performance.
Physiolab supplies physiotherapy equipment to sports and fitness professionals. The brand wanted to improve an existing range of cryotherapy products, addressing comfort, appearance and efficacy. D2M worked alongside Physiolab's team to redevelop the range, from concept through to prototype.
The Story
Cryotherapy is an established method for reducing pain and inflammation, but Physiolab's existing range was not performing to the standard they wanted. Fitting pads consistently across a wide range of body shapes and sizes was a central problem, alongside finding materials that would hold up in use without pushing manufacturing cost out of reach.
D2M's designers worked on the textiles engineering and product design side, while Physiolab contributed market insight and medical knowledge from their own research into athlete recovery. Multiple concepts were explored, testing different shapes, sizes and materials before a direction was agreed. The project then moved into prototyping, with several rounds built and tested to refine fit and function ahead of the final design.
