Milk Monster

Character-led milk bottle timer, for parents.

Milk Monster is a baby feeder built around a timer function that alerts parents when milk has been out too long to use safely. The brief called for a product that was both functional and engaging, with a character design that would appeal to parents and babies alike. D2M developed the product from concept through to a manufactured, market-ready design.

The Story

The core function centred on a simple problem: parents have no easy way to know when expressed milk or made-up formula has been left out too long. The timer was designed to solve that directly, paired with a backlit, glow-in-the-dark display so it could be read easily during night feeds.

D2M developed a character design to sit at the centre of the product and its branding, working through multiple concept iterations before settling on the final look. The character was carried through into the shape of the silicone feeder itself, which was designed with a soft tip and a wide opening for easy filling and cleaning. Food-grade, BPA-free silicone was used throughout for safety and durability. D2M also developed the retail packaging, using a clear window to show the feeder and illustrated graphics to explain how the product worked.

User testing was carried out with parents throughout development to identify pain points and refine the design before production.
