EVO Neck Cape
Neck cape designed for outdoor worker protection.
JSP Safety came to D2M needing a neck cape that would protect outdoor workers from UV exposure and integrate cleanly with their existing EVO range of safety helmets. D2M applied its textile expertise to take the product from initial mock-ups through to a certified, market-ready accessory.
The starting point was practical: rough mock-ups built around hard helmets to establish how the cape would sit and attach before any detailed design work began. Once the basic form was understood, the project moved into sketching and CAD to resolve the fit and construction properly.
Fabric selection was central to the brief. D2M sourced a material offering UPF 50+ protection against both UVA and UVB rays, working closely with JSP's in-house design team to ensure the specification met the required standards. Multiple prototypes were made and evaluated before the design was confirmed. The finished product conforms to EN 13688 and EN 13758-1, is compatible with JSP's Evolution helmet range and is machine washable at 40°C.
The Outcome
The EVO Neck Cape has sold over 100,000 units and sits within JSP Safety's active product range.
