Can-Off
Outdoor target game taken from a holiday concept to a manufactured, market-ready product.
Canoff is a throwing and target game designed for outdoor use on grass, sand and hard surfaces. The founder came to D2M with an idea that had been tested informally but needed proper development to become a manufacturable product. D2M worked through the design with a focus on portability, ease of setup and cost-effective production.
The Story
The concept started as a makeshift game played on holiday in 2010, built from improvised materials. The founder developed early versions himself before bringing D2M in to take the design to a standard that could be manufactured and sold.
D2M worked through multiple iterations with the founder, refining the form and function of the game across prototypes. The priorities were consistent: the product needed to be portable, quick to assemble, durable enough for outdoor use across different surfaces, and viable to manufacture at a price that worked commercially. The final design comprises two game cans, poles with scoring rings, a flying disc and a carry bag.

The Outcome
Canoff launched online and now sells internationally, including through Amazon. The product moved from an informal concept to a commercially available game with a full manufacturing specification behind it.
