Our clients, Vinit, Mitul, and Fazal, experienced a common problem many chai lovers face: the fine line between perfect brew and a kitchen disaster. After several memorable mishaps they envisioned a modern solution to brew traditional chai without the traditional hassle.

This project has been a blend of traditional and modern, of cultural homage and forward-thinking design, culminating in a product that promises to be as delightful as the chai it brews.
The Story
From Concept to Creation
The idea for Dostea was born out of a desire to blend tradition with convenience. The trio—Vinit, Mitul, and Fazal—decided it was time to bring the beloved ritual of chai brewing into the modern era without sacrificing its essence. They envisioned a machine that could produce authentic chai, embodying the traditional flavors and techniques but with the simplicity and efficiency of a modern appliance.
Fueled by their passion and driven by a clear vision, the friends embarked on a journey to turn their idea into reality. They teamed up with our senior design team at D2M who shared their enthusiasm for innovation and had the necessary design experience and technical problem solving to bring the concept to life.
The design process was intensive and collaborative. Dostea needed to be more than just functional; it had to evoke the warmth and nostalgia of chai made at home. The team focused on creating a user-friendly interface that would allow for customising strength and milkiness, reflecting the personal touch that chai traditionally requires. They integrated a unique mechanism to prevent the boiling over that had started it all, ensuring a perfect brew every time without the mess.
