The Story
The Degono Coffee Press was created by a husband-and-wife team from Ripon, Yorkshire, who were passionate about improving the traditional cafetiere experience. They loved the simplicity and ease of using a cafetiere but were frustrated by the typical issues such as coffee grounds in the cup, continued extraction after brewing, and messy cleanup. Their solution was the Degono Cafetiere, featuring the innovative GroundsAway™ system.
The Degono Cafetiere is designed by D2M’s senior team to have a dual-filter system that traps coffee grounds between two fine mesh filters. This design ensures a cleaner cup of coffee with no grounds and allows for the removal of coffee grounds immediately after brewing, stopping further extraction and preventing bitterness. The coffee grounds form a “pancake” that can be easily removed and composted, making cleanup simple and eco-friendly.
